For years, providers of nursing care for the elderly have had trouble attracting and retaining personnel. But since the beginning of the current recession, workers fired from other sectors have shown interest in the care industry. Industry watchers note that more and more temporary workers, who have suffered the anxiety of unstable employment, are showing a keen interest in jobs as caregivers because they seek the security of a permanent position.
